Regarding the minimum input/output difference of linear regulators, in the measurement conditions contained in the datasheet 'VCC=Vox0.95' is listed, but why is VCC less than Vo?
This condition represents the output voltage setting of the regulator. For example, for 10V output products 10Vx0.95=9.5V is applied to VCC. In this case when a specified load current flows the output is saturated (full ON) and the output voltage becomes lower than 9.5V. The difference between VCC and the output voltage at this time is defined as the minimum output voltage difference. Therefore, if VCC=(10V+Minimum Input/Output Voltage) or more, Vo=10V is maintained and the specified load current output can be ensured.Related Link:Technical Document
