  • Why do you recommend opening an unused pin in the high-impedance state of initial value rather than opening it as “L” or “H” fixed in output setting?
    • Under the high-impedance state of initial value, the microcontroller performs internal control to prevent a current path for both input and output, and thus a current does not flow even when a terminal is opened.
      If a terminal is opened while it is fixed to “L” or “H” in output setting and a short circuit with an adjacent terminal, etc. occurs, a current may flow between the short-circuited terminals. In the high-impedance state, however, a current will not flow.
      Therefore, we recommend that a terminal be opened in the high-impedance state of initial value.
